Hindi, Urdu and more

Which setting for Hindi, Urdu or another Indian language?

Hindi and Urdu are separate settings in Slate. Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu each have their own setting too, and all of them also work live; see the language list.

Many conversations in India move between Hindi and English. Pick the language most of the recording is in.

Family

Visiting family who speak Hindi?

Record a conversation during a visit, keep the Hindi transcript, and read the summary in English if that's easier for you. A live session shows the Hindi as text with a translation, so relatives who don't speak it can follow along. Slate can't record phone calls on iPhone; on a Mac it records Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex calls.
