One Chinese setting

Which Chinese does Slate transcribe?

Slate lists a single Chinese option, with no separate settings for Mandarin or Cantonese. If most of your recordings are in Cantonese, try a short one first and check the transcript before relying on it.

Family

Talking with relatives who mostly speak Chinese?

Start a live session on your iPhone and set the translation to your language. Slate shows what's said in Chinese as text together with the translation, so you can follow along at the table. It needs iOS 18, not Apple Intelligence.

Suppliers and partners

Calls with partners in China?

Record the call on your Mac without a bot joining, then share the summary with your team as text or PDF. Ask AI can pull out what was agreed on prices, quantities or dates, and the Chinese transcript stays there to check the exact wording.
